As a Firefighter there would be several factors to consider in answering your questions. First of all the severity and heat produced by the fire its self, most fire doors have a rating aka the amount of heat they can withstand. Secondly the location of the fire in relativity to the room you are “trapped” in, the farther away the fire the better your chances of survival. Thirdly if the room is sealed, if there is no draft for smoke to enter the room your chances will go up, aka no heating vents leading into the room and a air tight seal on the door to the exterior, however if the smoke can not enter the room neither can fresh air causing death from lack of oxygen. The most important factor yet and probably the most important is the construction material of the walls and ceiling of the room protected by fire doors. Fire spreads out and up consuming as it grows, so if the walls the doors are set in are anything but brick, or steal it will burn through the normal 2x4 construction before the door gives out. Bottom line an escape plan is the best plan.
But if you do find yourself trapped in a room here are a few things to do. Put something on the floor in fort of the door to keep smoke from entering the room, this goes for any vents leading into the room as well. Stay low to the floor and calm. Smoke rises filling a room from top to bottom and panicking will only use what little oxygen you have left faster. Hope this helps.

Why in the world would anyone go to the trouble and expense of putting in fire-doors without thinking about escaping if a fire DID break out? In this case, you would probably be dead of smoke inhalation in 3-5 minutes.

The doors may last for an hour or more. Check with your local fire department. In a real situation, the danger of smoke inhalation is likely to be more immediate. But ask at any firehouse. :-)

You can last as long as you want to with fire doors if there's no FIRE.
