Wasn't that just sad. Weirdly, it touched me. I was so disappointed when the dad died. I was hoping he would be found alive. Did that story saddened you?

It is astounding how touched we all are by the tragedy this family has endured. What a heroic man the father is! We are confronted daily with disappointment from the actions of our leaders, people who should be setting a good, solid example for those they govern. Look at the antics of celebrities who cannot even keep their underwear on. But here we can see the valiant nature of a human being who put others ahead of himself and by doing so saved the lives of his family at the cost of his own. I doubt he would think it a wasted or tragic cost knowing his children have another chance at adulthood because of his efforts.

You know when they found the mother and the children i thought Oh this is great!! and had a good feeling about finding the father alive. When they reported that he was dead, I was so sad like it was one of my own family. But at least they found his body and the family can have closure. My prayers are with them all.

It was very sad. He obviously loved his wife and kids very much. He nearly made it too. Less than a mile from food and shelter.

Yes, and it saddened me even more when a question on here more or less blamed them for their negligence, shame on you, you know who you are.
