Keep going. That is, let the natural progession of the moment, the conversation, the activity, quickly fade your embarrassing moment. Play it cool. In a few minutes, everyone's mind is on other things. Everyone screws up. The ones that are noticed the most are those who back out or 'hide' for the rest of the event. Stay in there, be strong.

Think fast and do something spontaneous in the heat moment depending on what it is. For instance, if you slip and fall on a banana peel in front of your friends, lay motionless on the floor a couple a seconds, then when they ask if you're OK, give a thumbs up and tell them, "Yeah, I'm fine... Just my ego is bruised." ;)

just pass it off. Thast what I do. Its always more embarrassing to the one who is embarrassed. Most people don't really care that much. Actually the more attention you pay to your embarrassing thing, the more noticeable it will be to others. If you get embarrassed, laugh it off and pass it off. Don't ever mention it again. They won't think anything of it. Thats what I do anyway

Just act like you're not embarrassed and like every thing is cool. That always helps and anyways most of the time noone even cares. You just think they do.

Back in high school, my boyfriend left the condom wrapper on the dash of the pickup he was borrowing and the owner of the pick up, who also knows my family quite well, gave me a knowing smile, when he discovered it. Don't think he ever told my parents though. Thank GOD!!!

Just let it go and realize that everyone goes through embarassing moments in life, and no matter what, it will eventually blow over. Just laugh it off.
