Preferably, a product which cleans easily. I think someone put a product on my floors (previous owner) they shouldn't have because there's a film that just seems to get "smudgy" unless I clean by hand and then "polish" with a dry cloth. There's got to be an easier way.

Laminate floors are suppossed to be simple and easy to clean. If you have a film on it, it sounds like someone used a wax or a polish that was not made for the floor. Go to your local flooring store and get a cleaning product that they sell - Capture is good and they should also have cleaning products made by the top laminate manufactures (Armstrong, WilsonArt..).
You can also try a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and warm water (but test in a corner to make sure it does not damage the floor color). Do not get it soaked with water or the laminate will warp.
If that cleaning product does not work, you may have to call a full service flooring store (such as Carpet One) that will come out and inspect your flooring for defects and submit a claim to the manufacturer for you.

If they are real wood then use Murphy's Oil Soap. But if they are laminate then just a good all purpose cleaner. Ammonia strips off all wax and then you can start over again, but you need good ventilation and need a way to re-wax.

most r cleaned with warm water and mild soap .........laminate floors, mostly the dark ones dont clean very well....
