Considering the fact that in 2003 the Raiders went to the Super Bowl here's what I would do:

1. Improve my defense and leave it intact, why fiz something that isn't broken.

2. Let Art Shell remain head coach and have him also coach the O-Line.

3. Put Randy Moss and Jerry Porter on the trading bloc and pick the best trade value for him.

4. Draft an offensive lineman in 2007 NFL Draft (I'd pick Joe Thomas, or Sam Baker, or maybe even Jake Long (GO MICHIGAN!))

5. Hire a decent QB coach

6. Address the chemistry issue, why can the D get along but not the O?

7. Put harsh penatlies on players with ego problems/players who refuese to cooperate.

8. Hire a new O-Coordinator

9. Force Al Davis to spend $$$ next free agaency (After 2006 season) and get veterans and players that help the offense.

10. Punch Al Davis in the face and takeover the team as the new Owner.

11. WIN! WIN! WIN!

12. Get Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to give some "motivational speechs".

13. ask ex-Raiders to help with reorganzing the team

First, I think that AL handing off GM duties would be a big step in the right direction. Al Davis meddling in personnel matters has hurt the team over the last ten years or so, he's not the talent evaluator that he once was.

Second, I think Art Shell has got to go, but I would allow him two more seasons to try and get the house in order. I think the offensive line needs work. Gallery can be the player he was supposed to be, if you can get a veteran guard next to him and allow the offensive line to play together without being shuffled around. I think that Randy Moss isn't the guy that any rebuilding project wants to have on the team. He's a great player, but like TO, he needs to play for a team that is winning so he stays happy and keeps his mouth shut. I went to WVU, and love Jerry Porter, but he'd be gone, too. I think that I'd evaluate every player, and see how committed they are to fixing this team, and being part of this team, guys who didn't want to put in the work would be shipped out.

The Defense has been fantastic, and would be a building block of the team. I think that Aaron Brooks was a bad idea, this team needs a steady QB who won't turn the ball over. I would see what the bears want for Brian Greise. I think he could start for a couple of years and mentor our 2007 draft choice, either Brady Quinn in the First round or Tyler Palko of Pitt in the 3rd or 4th round. I think two good non-al davis influenced drafts and some good free agent acquisitions could get the raiders back to being a competitive franchise.

Well for starters ya gotta start at the top of the team and work downward. I think Art Shell is just fine as coach. So lets work on the QB situation. I have no preference for a veteran versus a rookie since this team is rebuilding, so long as he is a pocket passer and has the ability to throw a deep ball. This will help them utilize Moss better. They need help on their offensive line, but simply trying to find a bigger RT would be a big help. Since the line is so weak I would want a big bruiser kind of running back. Someone like a Ron Dayne or TJ Ducket. This will help take pressure off the line and give the QB a little more time to let guys get down field. Also I would probably adjust the offense to use alot more shotgun formations, running alot of draws and pitches to spread the defense. This is a team that plays in the AFC west, points are the name of the game out there, and they need to be able to play in the cold weather.
Well anyways thats how id get things started,

Get rid of Randy Moss. I have no respect for a player that says he doesn't play because he is in a "bad mood". And this guy is the team captain. Way to motivate guys Moss! Then I would rebuild the O-line. That is where their big problem has been this year. Even if you had somebody out there like say a Bret Favre if you don't have the O-line around to protect the QB than nothing good is going to happen for you. Defense has been fantastic.

Build up their confidence,by scheduling a series of games with The California School For the Blind, AARP and the 5 year old champions from the Port Lavaca Pony league.

I would pick up a good QB who has proved he can play well, that way Moss can use his skills. Draft some Defensive players high up. And trade some of the players who aren't doing much to help the team.

first i'd sit every veteran and play the entire bench for the rest of the season and see who has the heart, will and ability to play well.--then next season keep those who can play and draft/ trade and get those who truly want to turn the team around.--and by the way i'm vince lombardi's great nephew so i know a little about football

Al Davis is an Idiot. He would never do that. He hires coaches, but then won't let them do what he pays them to do.
