I would go to the manufacter of your computer website and see if there is a scan you can do I know dell has one but not sure about others.
Try that.

You can use a free utility like Lavalsy's Everest Home Edition to display your BIOS, the maker, and their web address. Updating the BIOS can have very serious consequences. If done incorrectly, it will make your computer unbootable. You can download Everest (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Everest_Home/1086844970/1)
Install the software and load the program, click on "Motherboard" and the category will expand. Click on BIOS and it will give you all the information you need, including the web address to update it. Please read "Tweak insurance part 3: Restoring BIOS defaults " (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1590&page=3) if you get in to trouble.
