Overrated if you are just going to them to say that you are going to "a bar". If you truly want to have fun with your friends, bars are great and some of the best places to dance all night.

You have to experience it for yourself. When I was in High school I loved bars (this is Europe, mind you, not America where the drinking age is 21) but then by the time I hit college I had outgrown them. Now I don't like going to bars at all, and I think they are overrated.
It all depends on your personal ideas of what you think "fun" is.

Overrated. Most people go to bars to either meet someone or unwind. There are more productive ways to do both of these without setting foot in a bar.

If you are looking to meet someone of the opposite sex then join a singles group at church. If you are looking to unwind a bit, go home and sit in your favorite spot, kick the feet up, and grab a glass of wine and watch your favorite movie or book.

Its fun as long as you don't spend to much money. I always drink before I go, so then I just have to buy 1-3 beers to have a good time. Its a lot cheaper to get liquored up before you go, then to do it at the bar.

It was fun at the time, like when I was in my 20's. But in retrospect.....overrated. Spent way to much money and way to much drama. Dance bars are still fun, though. Once in awhile....Still very spendy. Drinks are outrageous!

I don't like bars. They are the perfect example of why I am not social; I would rather become successful than to spend my bad days in a bar looking for girls who probably also have had the run-down (job-wise)

It's fun when you first start, but as you get a little older it gets overrated and you start looking for something better to do.

Overrated. Bars suck. Why waste $ on booze when you can be doing something creative, like making music?

I go to the bar each chance I get..I just love it.
Just sitting my *** on a stool and drinking my bud draft, checking people out, listening to music, getting a buzz.I usually go there on my own too.
