I don't think it's in the governments interest to hide the cure for cancer. I could easily see drug companies doing so. But what president couldn't get reelected after curing cancer or aids.
Yes the government doesn't tell the people everything and it gets caught in my craw as well. I am an adult and trustworthy to have the knowledge, but I know that all my fellow citizens are not. Therefore certain information must be held away from common knowledge.
The best we can do is to elect officials we trust (I know harder than it sounds), and that have our best interests in mind. If you really want to know get elected to office.

If the government had a cure for cancer, it would release it to the public because the cure would mean votes and more funding, two things politicians always want. There are different types of cancer: which cancer, which cure? What's your source?

What is your definition of poverty? No TV or DVD.Cancer though you may be right there is more profit in treatment then cure.I doubt it's the Government though. We don't need a re-vamp just run it the way The Constitution outlines. That means taking away power not adding it.

I believe that our government is trying, but the leadership has failed. It's going to take years to make up for their loss. If you watch the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" you'll be even more upset with the government, but I'm more upset with the society as a whole. If you don't have a solution, don't complain.
The great thing about limited terms is that we get a new president.

nicely, there are quite some homes in Washington D.C. that resemble familiar homes of Rome. case in point.... ahem (3 semesters of paintings historic past), the column of Trajan and the Vaticano in St. Peter's sq. are both spires or obelisks that resemble the Washington monument. There are columns everywhere, from the White abode, to the Lincoln Memorial that are throughout Rome, and date a thoughts decrease back to historic Egypt. The dome of the Capitol progression should be appropriate to the domed occulus of the Pantheon. wish that facilitates!

They do hide things from us to avoid wide spread panic.
As for a cure for cancer, the government has nothing to do with
that. Stop funding research. The drug companies will release
the cure that week.
Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!!!!!

They don't want to tell us the truth becasue that's what's given them power since their beginning. They keep things from people to make life better, or lie to the common people, like telling everyone on TV that drugs kill, and that's all they do. In fact, some don't, but I don't support them regardless.

I would have to agree with that with this administration. Lucky for us, it will soon be over and we can get back to normal again. All things considered, you know, Clinton's only problem was he couldn't keep his fly zipped. Other than that, he was a dang good president!
