David you need to talk to someone anyone that you trust. Although what happened to you is something you will never forget you can learn to cope with it. If you are still afraid it will happen again you need to talk to your parent or parents and hopefully someone will help you. Dealing with it isn't a one day thing David it is a life time thing you will learn to deal with it only after the fear of it happening again is gone. You David have never left normal the person that has been doing this too you is the one that isn't normal. That person is sick and needs to go to jail. Your best choice would be the police but since you say its not a choice try a parent or a friends parent. David I too was molested when I was young and I never told anyone. The man eventually went to prison and still I didn't talk about what he did too me, that was thirty years ago even now I have days that I can't deal with what he did, please talk to someone.God bless you David I hope it never happens to you again.

It would be helpful to know if this family member is male or female. Do you have brothers or sisters if so you may not have been the only family member who was abused. Talking to a counselor may be the answer. Consider yourself a normal person who was a abused by a very sick person.who just happened to be related to you .Find a way to get out of this situation. You should not have to live in fear. Familys are not always loving and caring like they should be -care for yourself and seek any help that you can!

This happens more often than we want to believe. It takes a long time to get over and do not allow it to happen again. You need help and there is help of some kind out there for you. As for feeling the guilt of allowing it, turn to God and lean on him. He will forgive and help you move on, if you are sincere. Good Luck !

Counseling. You also need to talk to someone else about it - a close relative, a friend, or even just write a letter and then burn it, but it will help to talk about it. There should be lots of help lines, like the Kids Help Phone here in Canada. Give them a try.
There are a lot of people who have suffered like you. Remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE and IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT.
Good luck; it is a terrible thing to have suffered.

it never happened to me, but for my background in psychology, you should do 3 things. first, report that to the police, no matter when that happen, second find some kind of teraphy and third face the problem this is the most difficult but it works , talk to the person and deal with that. good luck for you.

If your an adult, push them out of bed and confront them. If your a kid, get up right then and there and tell a trusting adult. If there are none, the next day you should call a family memeber to live with and leave and get them to deal with the problem.

well, as a victim of several types of abuse myself, i can relate. there is much of my childhood i don't remember, and i have dreams of things that have happened or may have happened... the best advice i can give you is to seek help... a councillor etc. they have all the knowledge and resources to help you, and possibly even get you to the point where there's no longer any fear or pain.. as to getting back to normal, they can help, but after something like that, normal isn't the normal it used to be.. but good luck, hopefully you find help out there.

Get out and call the police. It is illegal. Don't be stupid. Do it. That person is dangerous. If you say calling the police is not the answer what is. And why not?

Talk to someone about. If you don't it will continue to eat away at you. Keeping it to yourself will endanger others as well as you. It will be hard, no doubt, but once you release the cause of pain from your heart, you will begin to heal.
