A trimester is a time period during the pregnancy. If you know what the stem "tri-" means, you should be able to guess that there are three trimesters in a pregnancy.

TRI = three. A trimester is a period of time which comes in threes.

Pregnancy is divided into trimesters to characterise the different phases it goes through. During the first trimester, from conception to 12 weeks, the baby is forming, and this is the most risky time for a miscarriage or for the baby to be damaged by drugs. The mother may feel tired and sicky due to all the pregnancy hormones sloshing around in her system.

From the beginning of the second trimester (13 weeks), all the baby's major organs are fully formed, and it starts to grow and mature. Symptoms like sickness usually begin to ease off like this point. The mother begins to acquire a "bump" and at some point begins to feel the baby move.

The third trimester (from 28 weeks until the end of pregnancy) is about your baby getting ready to born. Babies born prematurely from this point usually survive and do well, but there is still a lot of growing to do, weight to be put on, and the lungs need to mature. The baby takes up the position in which is it going to be born, usually head down. The mother starts to feel pretty big and heavy as the baby takes up most of the room inside her.

There three trimesters throughout your pregnancy.
The first is the most tiring and crucial I think there is a lot of development with the baby and alot of changes in your body so be careful and take care of yourself.
The second is exciting b/c you start to show and the baby will start to move and kick, you can also find out the sex of the baby as well.
Third is the last and final you should be very tired from carrying the weight of the baby and you should try to get a massage to relax you and the baby and those tight muscles. Also I encourage walking and kegel exercises to help strengthen the muscles in your pelvic area.
Good luck!!!
