Not sure if you have it over in the UK, but Hobby Lobby has them. The ones I get come from Bead Treasures, and they come in little red bags, if that will help your bead hunting.
They cost about $3 a bag (I believe that is about 1.50 pounds over there?), but they contain enough beads to make two 35 inch (90 cm?) necklaces if you use them wisely, and you'll have some left over, too!
I suggest using six seed beads and one larger bead between your magnets. It worked out great for me, and I still have some beads left should I ever want to make just a very small strand.
Another suggestion I have is to not use stretchy cord. Not very relevant, but I thought I should throw it in, anyway!
If you just can't find any, they have multiple dealers on the internet.

There are many locations. Most places you would find beading supplies.
If you want to check out a few styles and get more info check out the sites below, or do a search for magnet bead / jewelry supplies .

What you're making is an high priced vet bill. whilst she gets the beaded collar off, she is going to swallow the beads and the elastic. then you truly would be rushing her to the vet for surgical technique to do away with the elastic. Indoor cats do no longer choose collars, yet once you opt for one for some reason, then get a appropriate cat secure practices collar that may not harm her.

http://www.orientaltrading.com/ has hematite magnetic beads, enough to make 12 bracelets with elastic cord for 9.95. that's about as cheap as you can get.

I shop either eBay or at www.firemountaingems.com
Both have great prices!
Fire Mountain will also send you nicely sized catalogs at your request -- and they are so much fun to peruse!
Good luck!
