I thought it would never end too! My son turns one on Sunday... he hasn't spit for about two months now. The doctor said that he should stop spitting once he's able to sit up and move around on his own, and darned if she wasn't right! It was afraid that he would be going to school with a change of clothes and a bib on all day long... haha... well, he's back into the bibs now, but it's for the drool... ohhhh, the drool, will it ever stop? Just be patient, keep a good supply of bibs on hand, and you don't have to worry as long as baby is gaining weight and happy. Oh, and invest in a steam cleaner.
Oh yeah, I tried the soy formula as well. It didn't make a bit of difference for him. The only thing I got out of it are greasy stinky bottles - soy is gross. I think for a lot of spitters, it has a lot to do with their inner workings rather than what they are eating. Something is not closing up properly after they eat when the are teeny tiny babies and it just takes time for it to develop. Ask your doctor for the proper terms - I'm kind of a dumbass for medical terminology.

Okay, well..it is very hard on a parent when a baby keeps spitting up the formula.
I have 3 kid's and 5 all together...so I do know a little about what can happen if this continues.
Here is something that I used to do, and it helped very good.
The babies gained weight and started to sleep all through the night.
Add some rice cerial. when you make a bottle, just scoop in some rice cerial.
It will make the formula a bit thicker, there for it will stay better in the stomage.
But don't forget the give the baby also water to drink, boil it first and let it cool off, but not too cold.
It is very importent to have the baby sit up after the bottle, it also helps to keep the formula in.
good luck with your baby.

well my daughter is three months old going on four and she spits up ALL the time. I use Soy formula that has helped. But she still does and my doctor told me the same thing. So i guess some babies just do it! But good luck! It is horrible i cant stand it!!! But try a different formula ask your doctor if Soy would work.

Although it may seem all that's going into your baby is coming back up,that's certainly not the case. What looks like a mealful of milk to you is probably no more than a tablespoon or two, mixed with saliva and mucus-certainly not enough to interfere with your baby's nourishment.(To see how much a little bit of liquid can look like, spill a couple of tablespoonsof milk on your kitchen counter.)Spitting up is extremely common in infancy, and although it's messy and smelly,it's not a cause for concern.
Most babies spit up at least occasionally;some spit up with every feeding. The process with newborns may be related to an immature spincter between the esophagus and the stomach and to excess mucus that needs to be cleared. In older babies, spitting up occurs when milk mixed air comes back up with a burp.Sometimes a baby wisely spits up because she's eaten too much.
The material your baby spits up will be relatively unchanged from the form in which it entered her mouth if it went only as far as the esophagus before coming back up.But if it traveled down to the stomach before its return trip,it will look curlded and smell like sour milk. There are no cures for spitting up.But you can try to minimize the air gulping around mealtimes that can contribute to it.Don't feed her when she's crying (take a brake in the action to calm her down);keep her as upright as possible while feeding and for a while afterward;if bottle feeding,be sure bottle nipples are neither too large nor too small and that bottles are tilted so that formula (not air) fills the nipples(or use an angled nurser or one with disposable liners). It may also be helpful to avoid bouncing her around while she's feeding or just afterward and don't forget to burp her during a meal instead of waiting until the end of the meal, when one big bubble may bring up the works.
Accept, however, that no matter what you do,if your baby's a spitter she's going to spit-and you're going to have to live with it for at least sik months. Most babies ease up on their spitting up when they start sitting up.Most babies are happy spitters.

My son was always spitting up too. They me told it tends to die down when they learns to sit up. Also try to keep her off her stomach right after she eats. none of that work for my son he still spits up all the time and he is 16 months. They think he has gerd. We have to take him to a GI doctor. But as long as they are gaining weight the doctors don't really worry about it

Oh my son CONSTANTLY spit up!!! It does go away, around 6-7 months, but he still does a little.
My doctor told me the same thing. We switched to Enfamil A.R., for babies who spit up a lot. it made a little difference, but I'm afraid the best thing is just to be patient for the next couple of months.

Babies spit up. period.
Take an oz of formula and throw it on the floor and see how much it looks like, and see how much your baby is really spitting up.
Also ANY treatment for spit up (including cereal in the bottle) has potential side effects, so why risk it when your baby is happy, healthy, and gaining weight??

It's not the bottle that's spitting up ... it's your baby! Are you overfeeding the baby? Do you burp the baby after feeding? Maybe a different brand of formula would help!

Make sure you burb the baby inbetween feedings and gently pat his chest down after every burp.
keep your baby positioned upright after feeding to keep the milk down. there are positioners available for this.
while the above tips help, they will not completely eliminate spit-up.
hope this helps.
