But they are at my school right now and they keep saying they are coming back but they still haven't came and I want to be ready. Will I ever know when they finally come back or is it a way that I can find out?

The women in the chapter may continually say that they are coming back b/c there may have been a date set for them to ome back on the yard that could have been repeadedly postponed due to the many internal issues that must be resoved prior to a chapter that has been suspended being allowed to return to their campus. There are things that have to take place on a national, regional and local level that have to be well in order when a chapter is scheduled to return to a status of being active AND just because a chapter is eligible to be reinstated to an active status does not mean that the multilevel, multifaceted work will be immediately approved on every level.

It can sometimes be difficult to know when a chapter has returned to campus as they do not always make an announcement of any sort prior to having a function that reintroduces them to the life on the yard. Also, there have many instanciations where the chapter did not have any functions or make any announcement prior to the time that they hold a rush to let in new members, and sometimes the graduate chapter that is over the undergraduate chapter on a campus may decide that they want to wait until all of the members who may have been involved with the chapter being suspended to graduate and leave the yard so that they can have a fresh line that has no connection to whatever took place to cause the sanction to take place in the first place, especially if hazing was involved as the sorority frowns on such activity and tends to punish it very hard once it is found out to have taken place.

So in all honesty all that I can advise that you do would be to get yourself into a state of readiness and stay that way b/c their reimmergence may be sudden and go staight into taking on new members. If you do not have a mentor, get one....they can/should help you to prepare you letter of interest/intent and guide you through the process and information that you will need to become familiar with. Keep your eyes and your ears open! Look out for advertisments of sorority sanctioned events such as meet and greets, pink teas, coming out parties and certainly rush.

You may also wish to speak with whomever is said to be the on campus advisor of the sorority as she may be able to give you much more specific information regarding the return of the sorority to the campus.

There's no way to know for sure. You're only option is to wait and perhaps take the chance of not getting to pledge during undergrad. But if your heart is truly in it you can join grad chapter. This might sound crazy but I know someone who transfered schools because the Kappas had been suspended for years on his campus. Everyone kept speculating but no one knew when they would come back, so he joined at another local school. But that's a lot of effort to transfer schools and there's still no gaurantee that you will get in. But hopefully, the Soror's will be back and you will get your chance soon, until then study hard and good luck.

if they arent active at your school currently. I would really look into why they arent. They may have had some issues with the previous chapter and had their charter revoked or suspended at that school. If that is the case it could be a long time before they come back.

perhaps you should consider pledging in grad-chapter rather than undergrad. Or some have pledged elsewhere, not at their current university

If you want to do AKA, just wait and do it after you graduate since your school doesn't have it.
