It depends on why you got divorced. You would have to revisit the past, and see what went wrong, and from there resolve the issues. You have a history together, and that needs to be corrected before you move forward. Asking him would be a good first step, then you would need to either go to counseling, agree to disagree, and move on from the past to start a new future.

If you divorced him, why do you want him back? Chances are that it'll be roses for a little while and then you'll end up right back to hating each other.
Ever heard the saying "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the different result"? You've had your shot with him. Move on.

Are you still living in the same town as your ex. Does he seem to be still interested in you, who filed for the divorce. Do you really want your ex back or it just that you have seen him with someone else and it made you very uncomfortable. If he is willing to start dating you again and he still loves you then there may be a possibility of getting him back. If has moved on with his life, I don't think you will be able to get back what you at one time didn't want.

Not enough info here. How long divorced...who left whom? Any third parties involved? Still in the picture? Does he actually know you are still alive? Help us out a little here.
