My computer is about a year old, It was fine untill I got someone to format it and put a version of Windows XP..before it was formatted I could burn Cds and DVDS and it had No problem picking up cds..In the device manager it says that the device is working properly.. Can ANYONE PLEASEEE help me!!

Whoever formatted it and installed XP screwed it up. He lost the drivers that came with the computer. HP should let you download what you need from the support part of their site.

you should favor to replace the stress or receive a residing house windows media or if that one doesn't artwork then try downloading Divx participant that must be able to study the files on the disc its not the disk stress it only there is not a decode reader interior the computer.
