Which roomate?

When I first entered college, first semester: she was Mormon slut who had 3 boyfriends. They would stay up until 3-5 AM because she could sleep in until noon. I had a class at 8 AM. She was a total slob.

Same college, second semester: she was basically my mom and demanded that I keep the room super clean. Happily I can report that we are still very good friends, and she's matured quite a bit.

Different college, first year: best roommate ever. It drove me bonkers that she would watch medical shows in our room when I didn't like blood, but I just turned my head the other way. We meshed VERY well.

I get extremely bothered by a roommate with no respect for your sleeping time. I think its important to establish that a dorm room is a "home", and you should always be comfortable in it. If it is late at night and one person needs to go to sleep, the other person needs to be quiet. That's what bothers me the most for sure! If its midnight and i have an exam in the morning, i need sleep!

Talking on the phone too much. My roommate last year did that. She was always talking to someone; her mother, her boyfriend, friends on campus. It was very annoying and distracting.
