When I think of a footbridge, I think of something outdoors, that could be over any feature - a stream, a low spot in the terrain, or anything else. To me, a skywalk is a very specific type of bridge, one that is enclosed and is part of a structure, allowing people to cross between two buildings (and usually over a street) without going outdoors. I don't know if that's the technical definition, but that's how I think of the two.

A foot bridge is a bridge crossing a ravine, river, brook etc. A sky walk is a term generally used to describe a bridge or walkway between buildings across a street or roadway from each other.
