Boo, bad joke.
Pekkle: glad to see someone has enough will power NOT to get hooked on phonics.
As for your...statement, I agree, the Leafs are crapping out in the past month or so. They need to get rid of Ferguson and find someone who can see that Antropov is useless like ti'ts on a nun and trade his as$ for a cheeseburger. Regardless, go Leafs.

I see the irony of your age and my handle. Your 67 years encompasses 10 of the 11 Leaf Championships I believe. Been a Leaf Fan since I was about 7 or 8 as well but unlike when you were 8 it was the Ballard era when I started cheering for the Buds. The Leafs were just about rock bottom when I was getting on their bandwagon and as far as I'm concerned it's been a long, up and down, and gradual road from the dark ages.
As a couple people have said on this thread, Leafs will win when the fans start holding the team/organization accountable by not paying for tickets/Leafs TV/Leafs Merchandise/etc. The only way that might happen - and it's totally a long shot - is a new franchise in Southern Ontario. I know the rumour is Pens to Kitchener. That might really do it because the one thing that might draw fans away from the Leafs is knowing that Sidney Crosby's just down the road.
And then - watch the Leafs - they might actually try to win one.
The other thing that would be a good dynamic to put the Leafs over the top is having the whole NHL think that they are a laughingstock so they can sneak up on the league. I really think that's why the Leafs were thisclose to the Cup in '92. And as far as all those Hab fans are concerned - yes Leafs would have won that hypothetical final - plain and simple.

stop complaining. with 30 teams in the nhl, it is now harder to win the cup thatn it was 40 years ago. the leafs are striving to be better and better with all the resources that they have, and there is no other team in the league that currently has a larger incentive to win. unlike you, the leafs still have a huge fan base which has made them one of the richest teams in the league. so stop complaining, thank the lord for putting you on the same earth as the leafs, and GO BACK TO YOUR SMYTH-LESS OILERS!

it doesn't really have anything to do with there management or there scouts its the owners that have the final say in Toronto. see in Toronto it's all about the money they sign a player that's past his prime but in return they make money on the young fans that looked up to him when he was on top of his game and the fans buy the jerseys of that player and they make lots and lots of money. JFJ wanted to trade Domi last year but a higher up Lawrence M. Tanenbaum wanted to keep Domi there cause they are really good friends and that's why they keep losing. as long as they can be competitive enough to keep sailing out games the owners are happy with that, its all about making more money in there pockets that's all. cause if they win the Stanley cup they will have to pay players bonuses and some players will want more money for the following year and that's when the team starts to lose money.

They are the Make Beliefs. Always will be. Well, except for the Pal Hal era Laffs.
At least you saw the light. Until Taranna fans start boycotting the team, what do the owners care? They rake it in whether team wins or loses.

Shame on you. A true loyal fan sticks with their team no matter how much they suck. That's the only thing the Leafs have going for them. They have some of the loyalest fans around. Fair weather fans jump on the band wagon of a winning team. True fans stick.

Piano Man by BIlly Joel. It's from 1973 and it's played on oldies and classic rock stations pretty regularly.

Maybe they should send them all to the farm team as they play like a bunch of farmers. It is so stupid how they brag them up, saying what a great team they are, what a great defence they have. Must think everyone's an idiot. Just have to look at their statistics to realize they have the third worse defensive record in the whole league.

I hate the leafs, all they've done in the last couple years is sign goons and oldies. Cap should set them striaght though, and hopefully they'll be able to turn into a real proud team again.
