You played these games with ards and dice. They were board games. Baseball, footbal, Nascar, golf etc. I think they were called bookshelf games. Anyone know where I can find these games.

If they were called bookshelf games, they were almost certainly the Avalon Hill games. AH did have an extensive lineup of sports games, however, none of those survived the decline and sale of the company. Although the AH name is still in use as a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast, virtually all of their old game catalog is out of print. Your best bet is e-bay or some of the gaming specialty stores that focus on used games.

Check Ebay! Many of the original Avalon Hill games like Statis-Pro football, Baseball etc are for sale...

Paydirt is one of the ones you are interested in it was produced by Avalon Hill. Hasbro owns them now. I would try eBay or other auction sites. I believe these games are quite rare now. In Baton Rouge there is a store that has some of these games. It is Little Wars their phone number is 225 924 6304. Good luck
