I need to know all the different kinds of purses, im going purse shopping, and im not sure what the kind of purse im looking for is called.

there are: clutch (which is a small bag with a handle), a tote bag (big bag-like purse), shoulder bag (medium sized with long strap or to smaller straps) most come in leather, canvas, etc.

Most of the salespeople in a department store will be able to help you select the right purse.
Describe the style you are looking for.
For example: not to small not to big, one that has a long strap so I can carry it over my shoulder etc. or one that has a fold away handle that I can either grasp in my hand or hang off my wrist (clutch bag)
Choose a department store like Macy, JC Penny, Sears, Charlotte Rousse etc. or one that strictly deals in purses.
