I trun the key and it tries to start then 5 seconds later with the key turned it starts, and works fine. When i bought it it would start fine, but i had spark plugs changed and air filter and all that, and it was fine but then like a week later it takes a while for it to start any suggestions?

the starter is probably failing,
or if its raining it could be letting moisture in and that will give it problems and you'll have to turn the key a bunch of times before a spark starts.

Common Jeep issue.

The problem is the fuel pressure regulator. When you turn the key to the "on" position that turns on the fuel pump which pressurizes the fuel system. The pressure regulator does exactly what its name implies - it regulates that fuel pressure in the system. When the regulator starts to fail it allows the fuel pressure to rapidly bleed off, dumping fuel back into the tank and thus not provide enough pressure for the engine to start immediately, or what is called a slow or sluggish start. It may for example, take several cranks before it finally fires up.

Try this.

When you insert the ignition key turn it as quick as you can all the way to the start position and note how long it takes to start if it starts at all.

Next time you start the vehicle (let it sit for a bit to bleed off all the pressure) turn the key to the accessory position (so the lights come and radio come on but not all the way to start the engine). Leave it there for about 5 seconds, then try to start it. My guess is it will turn over faster that time.

Classic pressure regulator fault.

On most vehicles the pressure regulator is at or near the fuel rail on the engine and a simple test is to pull the rubber vacuum line off it and see if any fuel poors out. Not so on a Jeep. Jeep includes the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, module and filter all in one unit inside the gas tank. The entire thing gets replaced as a unit. Not cheap.

check the fuel pump pressure.put a tester on the fuel rail and see how much pressure you got.if the pressure is low, change the gas filter.

My guess...fuel pump is going out.
Does it also seem to have less power than it used to?
Does it sometimes die right after you start it?
