It will be a Democrat because people have had more than enough of the Republicans. Bush has pretty well sealed the fate of the Repubs for 2008. The only question remaining is who will go down to defeat at the hands of whoever the Dems nominate.

Even when the Republicans cheat, they only win by a couple of points. Now that the governorships and states are controlled by Democrats, there will be less cheating and the electorate has finally tired of the negative campaigns of the Republicans. I'm thinking landslide in '08, if the Democrats nominate someone other than Hilary. Edwards is the man.

Nothing. As any other election this also will be and only affects directly the people of USA and of course if the elected president does some foolish things like what Bush has done in Iraq or the action taken by then President in Vietnam, then world will be put into considerable pain and sufferings. Today whatever sufferings the Americans and the world are having is the making of Bush by invading Iraq and killing Saddam Hussein invoking the anger of Muslims. Similarly the action taken by your Presidents only aggravated the Afghanistan problem. In order to defeat Soviets the Americans trained Muslim Fundamentalists and armed them, financed them to kill the Soviets and Najibullah's army. So after the Najibullah was killed the same Muslim fundamentals turned up against the Americans. Same thing happened in Vietnam. Americans have the knack of getting involved in petty issues and then blow them up big and get involved and suffer the most. So it does not matter who wins but the result will be same since the advisers to the presidents are always the same.

it will all hinge on next year The repub. loss could be the best thing that could happen for them.. The dems now have 2 years to either prove they have a good plan, or to make a bigger mess of things and lose it all. There are more third party voters than ever now, thier voice is growing and although they arent large enough to pull off a win yet they are large enough to tip an election if their interests aren;t addressed

Republicans or a decent democrat

2006-12-09 03:26:23 · answer #5 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Republicans. I think this because Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats who will be taking over Congress have already set expectations that are too high for them to achieve. They will have the most "moral" Congress EVER? Not likely with William Jefferson who hides $90,000 in his freezer, Kennedys who can't stay clean and sober, and Hillary once things really start coming out about her.
The Democrats will fail to live up to their own rhetoric and the people will not let them get away with it. Therefore, they will put Republicans back into office again.

Just my opinion. Looking forward to reading everyone else's.
