I think everyone has a different outlook on what thier meaning of Freedom is, but we all have an idea. United States has decided what freedom was long ago.
There isn't only one meaning to freedom. If you asked ten people what George Bush was, different people have different opinions.
My opinion is that in the United States we have more freedom than some other countries and that you should be very thankful.
Freedom is not free. All US citizens have the same rights there is no need to complain about it.

I believe your statement is incorrect. When you ask people about freedom what you are getting is their interpretation of what freedom means to them. While to one person freedom of speech might be the most important thing, to another it might be the freedom to choose their leaders and another might say the freedom to own property. This does not mean that they do not understand what freedom is, it just means that they have different focuses within the ultimate framework. You can hold whatever opinion you like, but to date I have seen no abridgment of my freedom from the Patriot Act or anything else passed by this administration, unless having to take my shoes off at the airport constitutes a loss of freedom. If you want to make the case that people take freedom for granted I can agree with that, but not that they do not understand it or can't decide what it means.

I can tell you that freedom is not for wanton chaos. Freedom is not free, and must constantly be defended. Semantics apart, law enforcement, border protection, and sorting out imminent crimes from innocent gatherings and discussions must be supported for the greater internal peace. To simply allow things to happen without making efforts to protect the population would be irresponsible and impeachable. Conversely, making such efforts will not please everyone, even you.
When we are not prepared to defend ourselves and to take unpopular action in a difficult time, is when we will lose ourselves to an internal chaos, of our own making.

No, it is the left wings dissent and scare tactics of claiming we are losing rights, not one right has been lost, unless you are a terrorists or support terrorism. The average law abiding citizen has nothing to fear. Freedom has to be experienced to be defined, and not the loss of to be used to scare people.
