You don't need a translator, what you need is a dictionary. I can't believe no one has mentioned these, as any real german learner would be aware of them, dict.leo.org and dict.cc are both english-german. Free translators are worthless. I know one girl who relied on them and she had the WORST german I ever heard. A dictionary will actually give multiple translations with their context and it will give idioms and phrases with the words too.

No such thing, sorry! It will only give you gobbledygook. E.g. translate 'je mange un avocat' (I eat an avocado) from French to English using an online translator website and it'll give you 'I eat a lawyer'. You'd be better writing whatever it is yourself using your own knowledge of German. Otherwise, it'll be obvious you used a translation website.

That is a good one because it translates loads of other languages as well, however you can't get any free translators which are any contest for a person translating, sometimes they don't make any sense at all.
