From a personal perspective, I think of the Neanderthal man as one who took forceable control over the mate, was dominant. While I don't want to be the type of woman who is controlled, too independent for that, I do like the type of man who is "manly" and willing to take control of a situation when needed. I am married, have been for 8 years, to a man who is very manly, and takes control when needed. While he does not say "ugh" and drag me by my hair for a caveman mating session, he is man enough for me.
