I would not pull them out until the situation was right. I would work with the Iraqi government, and with our allies, and start a withdrawl in very small doses as the situation stabilizes.

All in all. W. is doing a pretty good job. The only problem is that the U. S. rulemakers don't want to hurt anybody in S. W. Asia. Yeah, there is a lot of killing going on, compared to what we are used to , but for a war, it's nothing. The bad guys shoot at you and then run into a crowd if people, or a Mosque because they know we can't get them. They toss their weapons in a closet or something and whistle dixie when we bust open the door, because they know we can't do anything about it. Every Tom, Dick and Harry that shows up to a U. S. base and says, "Hey, there was a gunfight across the street from me the other day, and my relative got shot." They get $500 U. S. No proof needed, but we must eyewitness enemy acts to open fire or take prisoners. No reasonable suspicion or even probable cause allowed. If the collars and leashes would be removed from the American grunts, and somebody please tell the whining Iraqi forces to go down to Hadgi's Market and pick up a "can of Man" and defend themselves, and quit crying about the "Insurgents will get me and my family if I tell you who it was", tehn we would make a little progress. Why the hell would the bad guys know you told us anything, unless you told them too? Oh maybe ya'll hang out together when you not standing in line for you $500.

But I digress. My plan would be to drop leaflets that say "get out." Then kill everbody that didn't leave for being a combatant, build a big fence, and start my own oil company.

You may want to spell check your submissions here, but I am thinking you mean, what would we do, if we were in Bush's shoes right now, having made the choices he made to get at this point.

I would not have (likely) acted as Bush, but for the sake of your argument, I will assume I did. I would findd it hard to reconcile such tremendous unilateral stupidity with my current thinking, but the Iraq study group report would have to be a wake up call to me. I'd likely begin a phased drawdown of troops, in conjunction with planning military leaders, as well as attempting to create a multinational coallition, not to fight in Iraq, but to plan a withdrawl. I would really try to get Iran, Syria, and Saudia Arabia together to plan on the eneventual dispensation of Iraq. I could envision a multinational troika running things, as opposed to a toothless interim government, or even the break up of Iraq as a nation, with different sections being ceded to the three nations around it.

Regardless, I would take the responsibility for the mistakes, as well as trying to fix things.

I would have avoided Iraq anyway, I woudn't have gone for a target of opportunity like Bush did, I would have just fought the terrorists and have it over by now!

i would pull them out and have Iran take over. That's the only way Iraq will stop. Or we could take our troops out and blow up Iraq with a few nukes. I think blowing them up is the best idea.
