The average salary of a commerical pilot is around $40,000 per year for an entry wage pilot.

As to getting a license, look around in the yellow pages for a flight school.

Good luck!

This is dependent on many things.

There are many categories, then you have different countries with different scale.

Like any thing it is a matter of supply and demand. Experience......

So just go to airport near you and see if you can talk ti a pilot or talk to a person in an air line office.

Do your search on Internet.

To be a commercial passenger plain pilot you need lots of experience and certification it is not like car license. Most pilots fly only one type of plain say, Boeing 707. of MD- 80. Or Air bus 300 series if lucky. Air Bus has 300,380, ....

Most start with single engine propeller plain, Private licence, and get more advance plain licence, slowly.

A 777 pilot may fly with 500 or so people, the equipment itself cost $1.2 billion not counting stuff on the plain and other support equipment. So the co-pilot may have to have good flight back ground, they fly non stop for 12 to 14 hours taking turn, so there is actually no pilot and co-pilot both are good well experience pilots, most of the time the plain fly(auto pilot)by itself and some land by themselves(auto instrument landing) and pilot is there to take over if needed he just watches the things going smoothly.

Each job has a different scale of income and in addition the income called as perks. The following would give an idea.
Monthly salary - Basic
DA, CDA, VDA, CCA, -
Travelling Fair, Accommodation, dress, and so on.
The total will vary every now and then and there is no accurate figure for this. But over all the expectation is about 40,000 - 45,000 at present. (However, in the event of requirement, this could be verified at the nearest airport with the head of accounts as every perks are not based on percentage). Besides, risk allowance, 2-3 types of insurance and so on would make a good income - But where is enjoyment of day-to-day life?

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
