Eye-color is strictly genetic. It comes from not just your husband's and your eye-color, but also your parents and his parents, their parents, etc. If his parents have all brown eyes and one of your parents have a "brown eye gene" (what color eyes did you grandparents have?), then your child will most likely have a brown color to his eyes (brown, hazel, or green). If everyone from your side of the family has blue eyes, chances are you will have a child with green eyes (a mixture of brown and blue). But if no one in his family has had blue (or even green) eyes, the chances of having a child with blue eyes are slim and none, and slim left town. Sorry.
btw...Some believe eye color is set at 6 months of age, but eye color is not definately set in a child until 2 years old. My daughter's eyes were true blue until 22 months old, she is 9 now, and her eyes are gray.

Brown eyes are usually dominant but my husband has brown eyes and mine are blue and my daughter's eyes are blue. Of course they will be blue when the baby is born, but they could change to brown. If they havent changed by the time the baby is 6 months old, chances are they won't!

There is actually a website for that but I cant remember what its called.
I have blue eyes and DH has brown for us it said brown!
Most baby's are born with dark or blue eyes and then the pigment comes in and they change around 6 months to a year!

you never know, babies can get hair and eye color that is very far down the family tree. I have brown eyes brown hair so does my hubby and both out parents and there parents. My 9n month old has very light brown hair and very BLUE eyes! We found out they probably came form her great, great grandmother who was red haired and blue eyed. We all carry genes form so many family members that we can not really predict what the colors will be. All you can do is wait.........

If he carries a gene for a blue eyes it is possible. Does he have any family members with blue eyes? Chances are your baby will have brown eyes since brown is dominant.

Eye color is all in the genes. Certain genetic traits are dominant and others a recessive. Blue eye genes are a recessive gene and the percentage that your child will have blue eyes is about 25%. Best wishes on your new addition.

Well my mother had brown eyes and my father had brownish hazel eyes and I have bright blue eyes. Its possible but there is no real way of giving an exact percentage. The chances do increase if his family has anyone with blue eyes in it.
