As an Aussie I hear a lot of people say that the two countries are very similar. However, I don't think it's necessarily true. Australians seem to love their sports and are more easy going whilst Americans tend to think about how many wallets they'd need to reorder. What does everyone think are the differences between the 2 cultures and the 2 countries in general?

They seem to take life in general, a whole lot easier than do Americans. Not as competitive or "profit oriented" when it comes to money. They are well respected around the world. They don't go to war as often. They still respect and honour their British heritage.
All in all, they love life and actively participate. They don't have the pressures in life that the Americans do. The politics are totally different. Australians just try to govern "themselves" and not take on the world.

There may be slight difference due to environment and family background. With the exception of a few every person has love for money. Sports activities is dependent upon available spare time and personal interest. This vary from place to place. From the Yahoo answers, it is evident that pattern of thinking is not much different. There may be exceptions.
