http://www.pcworld.com go here and search the downloads for password retriever tool. they have several to chose from, most are free.if you cant get the pc to start in safe mode with networking to go to web site then use another pc to get it then make a disk of it and insert in laptop and download. good luck.

Which version of windows does it have, or is it another operating system? In Windows 9X series you can go into system set up and delete or change the password. It wasn't secure to start with. In XP you should make a Password re-set disk on a 3 1/2 floppy and if you forget the password, use that disk at boot up and it will allow you to enter a new password. If you want to try to guess it, try the usual stuff that so many use. Birth dates, names of kids, etc.

well you could just reinstall windows if you have a windows cd somewhere and that would delete everything on the computer comepletely. Or if you have another computer and a little bit of knowledge then Austrumi (http://cyti.latgola.lv/ruuni/index_en.html) it is a linux operating system that has a feature to blank out Windows passwords. You simply have to download it burn it to a CD and boot the laptop from it. You may have to go into the laptop bios and tell it to boot from the CD drive before the harddrive...that is done before the computer even starts to load windows.

This really depends on which manufacturer made the laptop. I know HP and Compaq allow you to hit F2 at startup and will allow you to "restore" the system to factory defaults. If not you may be able to use a live cd to boot the system up and change the admin password.

When the password screen comes up just leave it blank and hit
"ENTER", That may get you in so you can proceed to change the password
