I think the one female hero I have the most respect for is Barbara Gordon, formerly known as Batgirl, now called the Oracle. I think I'm just taken in by her inability to sit quietly on the sidelines. She's proven herself every bit the detective the Batman is, and even when her legs were taken from her by the Joker, she simply became more valuable as a hero, becoming a resource for the JLA, the Teen Titans, the Bat-Family, as well as founded her own team: the Birds of Prey.
She's also the main squeeze of the heart and soul of the entire DCU--Dick Grayson. Everybody's connected to Grayson somehow, just like Kevin Bacon.
