Death, because death is final, it is over not another chance. However, a broken heart can heal with time, you still have breath and a chance to make a life. We all if we live long enough have probably suffered at least once from a broken heart. It heals with time, don't dwell on it. Good luck and God bless****

I think that being heartbroken is by far worse than death since being heartbroken is a constant pain and anguish, it means suffering. Being heartbroken and a depressed as a result can have pretty bad outcomes on one's physical health as well. Death, on the other hand, is just ceasing to exist, therefore there are not positive or negative emotions to be felt. There is nothing to be felt when you die, therefore you do not experience the anguish that you would when you are heartbroken. When you die, those who knew you and were close to you suffer, but not you, on the other hand, when you are heartbroken, no else but you suffers, and you must go through it all by yourself to work it out. Furthermore, a broken arm can be fixed; even clogged arteries, but are there prosthetics for the broken heart ?
Hope that answered your question.

Depends on gender, men have more of a problem with their heart being broken than a woman. In death it is one finality. In a broken heart there is hope which opens you up for more hurt, in death there is no hope so the amount of hurt can be no more or no less that it already is. Hope this helps

My husband picks up deceased persons, for a living.
I have gone with him a couple of times. I would definitely say, there isn't a chance for a broken heart, if you are dead.
When you have a broken heart, it may seem like you want to die.
Dying is permanenet...after dying there are NO other choices.
You will deal with the broken heart and be that much stronger for your next relationship, by having gone through the experience.
Good questions...made me have to use my brain.

Both are horrible:
Losing a close friend or a parent to death makes them irreplaceable. You will eventually get another boyfriend/girlfriend, but you'll never replace someone who died.
Loosing someone to a breakup is horrible, especially if they broke up with you. At least someone who died didn't reject you entirely before they left your life. It wasn't a choice. If someone broke up with you, you have to live with the fact that not only are they no longer in your life, but they don't want to be.
None of these answers are even remotely comforting. But understanding and making sense of the pain in both scenarios is a helpful process.
Good luck.
