I believe it is the work of the Devil. He lurks in shadows, he is the keeper of the dark. When you turn on the light, he disappears, sort of like cockroaches.

When something obstucts light, a shadow is the result.

For example: turn on a light in the house. Find a point in the room opposite where the light is from you. You should see your shadow there, because you are blocking the light that would otherwise shine where your shadow is.

light cant pass through opaque objects....They cast shadows when it doesn't pass...
