In Dallas there are horses of bronze, nine life size mustangs, 'galloping' through a pool of water. The water pool is programmed to appear like the hooves are splashing up as the horses run through it. Very much worth the visit. Plus much more.

If you decide to take a more southerly route, San Antonio's downtown River Walk is a rambling walking trip beside the river, past sidewalk restaurants, quaint arched bridges, and boat rides on the river. Dazzling at Christmas time, millions of lights everywhere.

You can write to, or call, the Tourist Bureau of each State you will be going through, tell them of your planned visit to their State, they will send you brochures (and a map if you ask for one). Texas has a very large tourist/travel book, more than 260 pages. That's a trip in itself.

Call 1-800-452-9292 for personal travel assistance in TEXAS.
Have fun!!!

Did you know that Texas is the only State that was once a Country?
