I occassionally feel guilty about not giving my parents grnadchildren, but considering my health issues, even if I was (which I'm not) in a hetero relationship I may not have so...yes I feel guilt about things I can't control; but as for being Gay, No. No, I don't.

In a way we do. We feel bad for straight people who have tunnel vision. We hurt when we hear straight people criticize the way other people live. We hurt because they may be missing out on a great friend. We hold a moment of silence every time another gay person is beat or worse by someone who didn't have enough love in their own lives. We stand proud when a family member gives us a hug just because. We shed a tear when a lonely heterosexual spews hate from a twisted mouth, knowing they are in need of hope. Guilt only takes place because through all of the hate and pain, we have no more or no less than any other. We just have more fun. We have learned to laugh when crying would be better. Guilty because straight people lives, to us, have an empty space that should be filled with understanding, not questions or blame.

I totally understand your question. See many gay people, and backed by many scientist, believe they were born gay. This makes them look at religion for answers.
And like many many people, many gay people grow believing in God and religion. In fact, God would have probably been the first one they would have approached begged for help. From that point religion becomes a very important part of their lives and the way they would explain existence and life after death. That peaceful feeling of knowing that by being a good person and never hurting anyone, one day they will be rewarded and see all their loved ones on the otherside is the hard to give up! In fact, it has a very addictive characteristic. One philosopher once said: "You have to be a brave man to say God does not exist!" It is like saying, when you die is like when you switch a TV off in the middle of your favourite movie, and that is that!
Years of growing up learning about religion - some may call it brain washing - is not an easy thing to give up. For some hardcore religious upbringing leads them to feel guilty and few years ago it used to be very common that many committed suicide! Others give up their belief while some fought to be accepted within there religion. So they dwelled on their religion hoping that somewhere along the line, someone made a mistake. In short, they tend to be good people looking for acceptance. And that does not only apply to people born as gay Christians, but also those born as gay Jews and gay Muslims. Who is right? Well it would be stupid for anyone to say 100% sure. With all the hundreds of religions and thousands of sects, the truth about life will only be certain when we die! If only one of them is right, then life is mostly a birth lottery. Where you born in the right religion?

Why ever should gay people feel guilty. Just like some of us are born ugly gay people are born gay. They have nothing to feel guilty about , it is the so-called straight people who have a thing about people being gay.

Unfortunately, a lot of gays do go through a phase of feeling guilty about their orientation at the begining. For some, they feel that their sexual orientation goes against their religious beliefs. Others feel guilty that they're not going to give their parents the pleasure of grandchildren.
This is when gays require the most support to transition this difficult phase. Eventually, most will overcome this phase, and accept their sexual orienation as part of who they are.
For bisexuals, its the gay part of being bi which causes the most difficulty.

Probably yes, some ot them.
I regularly feel guilty about being a crossdresser, I sometimes feel guilty about having gay thoughts ( An odd term, work with me on this ), I feel guilty about the way I handle my workload, and the way I treat my family....
Guilt is part of life.

The feeling of guilt exists in all humans (apart from psycho/sociopaths I suppose) and has no particular effect on people simply because of their sexuality. As a gay man I have never experienced guilt because of the sexual practices I enjoy. Now wash your mouth out with soap!!

I used to between the ages of birth to 16 but i love it now and hope everyone who is homosexual can love it to. It can be a lot of FUN! Don't listen to those overly religious people who quote the bible Jesus Christ nor God wrote it. Others wrote it in what is said 500 years after Jesus Christ left the Earth and went to Heaven. It's just a book of other peoples opinions on how to live your life.
