Terraforming is a long and complex process that has never been tried. Oxygen is highly reactive, so it would almost all come out of an atmosphere unless there was some process replacing it, like plant life. Mars has a very low atmospheric density, and is very cold.
Gravity stops Oxygen from floating into space. We cannot give mars more gravity without giving it more mass. Mass is tied to gravity, the bigger a planet the more massive, the more graviy.
It is possible that we could make small bacteria to convert chenicals into free oxygen on mars for us, but there are problems with that. First, we would need a LOT of it. Mars currently only has like .68% the atmospheric pressure of earth, and we would have to globally raise that to something we could breathe, at least to a pressure comparable to a high mountain environment on earth. That's a LOT of Gas. Second, it can't be just oxygen. As I said before, O2 is highly reactive and when it reaches about 30% by volume in air, the air itself will burn. That would be bad. We need something noble like nitrogen to mix with it.
Anyway, check out these links, they have a lot more info...

It is thought to be possible.
Its believed that we could go to, lets say Mars, and set up green houses in many many locations around the planet. When the plants and trees and such let off oxygen we would release it into the atmosphere of Mars. Over time this would build an effective atmosphere on the planet, that possibly you and I could even live on. Much like Earth.
Keep in mind, this would take hundreds or more years more then likely.

Yes we could, but it would take a long time.
There will be objections. One of which is, if we can't make things work properly here, why bother trying to get things nice and comfy on another planet ?
On the other hand, it might be a good bit of insurance to start the process off NOW. Just in case. It could be done remotely, no humans need go there. Ideally devise a system that is self-maintaining, obviously using plants and sending the minimum amount of equipment and supplies to that planet.
But I think there are higher priorities at the moment. Like population, wars, global warming issues.

Melt the ice caps on Mars. The water will then evaporate into the atmosphere and be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen by sunlight. The ice caps also contain a lot of CO2 ice which would trap even more heat from the sun if you could get the C02 into the atmosphere. The only problem I see is how to melt the ice-caps and get past the EPA.

really, in case you want to precise layer the "layers" of the ambience, you may discover that there are a thoughts more beneficial than seven, and the vast form really adjustments in accordance to seasons, sunspots, photo voltaic pastime, even if it truly is day or evening, and on and on. Too, the ionosphere is really area of, no longer break free, the thermosphere. technology really in common words acknowledges 5 atmospheric layers. perchance it needs to seize up with the Quran? the quite layers recognized are Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and Exosphere. 5, no longer 7. The "magnetosphere" isn't area of the ambience. it really is the earth's magnetic field, and by no skill area of the gaseous masking of our planet. The Quran, or Koran, or perhaps with the undeniable fact that you want to spell it, isn't a clinical e book. particularly a lot some thing should be interpreted as having some resemblance to technology, yet thus, you're searching at mere twist of destiny of how issues are named. the reason the Quran mentions 7 heavens is because for the time of historic past, 7 has been a paranormal huge form. The 7 heavens had no longer some thing to do with clinical convention in naming layers of our surroundings, of which there are really 5. interior the Ionosphere on my own, we've the D, E, F1 and F2 "layers", alongside with sporadic E layers, that are quite different and measurable. Does the Quran communicate about layers interior layers that are mutable? in case you've were on condition that in there, i am going to guage taking it slightly extra heavily. no longer some thing mystical or spooky or actual or coincidental. The Quran does no longer "tournament technology" thus.

Sci fi seems to have your answer. A trilogy of books by Kim Stanley Robinson cover the story of an attempt to colonise and terraform Mars. The physiological and practical problems involved are documented in some detail.
Even if you don't believe it is possible, it makes a good story.

I doubt that its a possible task.... if the gravity on the other planets magically increases, and all the essential components on the earth float into space....(which god forbid shall not happen) then, maybe "mankind cud create another atmosphere"...

No I do not think it is possible.
A planet like mars that once had a atmosphere and lost it can not have another remade.
A planets core has to be hot in order to create magnetic field needed to fend off solar radiation that killed off the planet in the first place.
So with no molten core no atmosphere.
damn good question though.

sure we could carry oxygen there in drums and release it; then go back to earth fetch some barrels of water. Wow we could actually create another country there then we would of course have to ask for VISA if smone wants to visit.

it's called terraforming. we'd also have to make sure the planet has a decent magnetic field so the atmosphere isn't blown away by solar winds.
