I am looking for recommendations of places to dine when I am in Nice. I will also be visiting other cities along the French Mediterranean, so other recommendations are welcomed as well.

Thanks for suggestions so far. Also, looking for any "must see", "must do" kind of suggestions for while I am there.

Nice is a great place to visit. Lot of great restaurants here. I have listed five that are real nice and serve very good food.

La Patite Mansion
This is an after-theatre restaurant because the Opera house is nearby.

La Tapanade
A range of fresh pasta and pizza and Niconse specialties.

Chez Juliette
Quite sophisticated food menu but elegantly presented.

Chez Palmyre
All French cusine here. Very good.

Spuntino Divino
The very "Best" Past dishes here

I have 2 recommendations (not cheap) : Le Chanteclerc (it's an institution in Nice, magnificent place right on the "Promenade", but very expensive) ; I have'nt been there in a while and it changed owner 2 years ago, but it's supposed to still be a good place - address to their site http://www.cosmopolis.ch/france/art_de_vivre/nice/restaurant_le_chantecler.htm - click on the English version

and L'Ane Rouge (right on the harbor) - address : http://www.anerougenice.com/ They have an English version too and give a sample of their menu.
Let me know which other cities you are visiting as I know quite a bit about this area (I am French)

My fiancee and I were there a few months ago and we did all the classic french restaurants, which we loved. But our favorite experience was at L'atliers, a Robuchon restaurant.

It was amazing, and perhaps more fun it was a restaurant that you would go to if you were French and lived there.

AMAZING... and we did the chef's selection which was an extended tasting menu which we still dream of today.

Au revoir
