Could be any of the components in the front suspension and steering. By a process of elimination, first get the wheels balanced and check tyres at the same time, uneven wear will indicate other problems, such as worn ball joints!

There is a number of things that it could be.If it happens at high speed,it might be that the wheels need balancing. If it happens when braking then it is a good chance that the brake discs and pads need to be checked and replaced as necessary. Also get the front suppension bearings checked out.

What happens when your past that?

All machines will have a frequency they vibrate the most at.

My old fiesta used to shake at 80, but was smooth at 90.

With higher performance cars its when they dont get enough power, Mitsi FDO's shake up around 90 95 but are very smooth past that.

To get your balance checked though, and your brakes!!!

A distant probability is that some organic substance like snow or dirt has replace into affixed to element of your wheel. this will additionally reason that variety of symptom, although extra in all probability with an up-and-down variety of vibration than a shimmy on your guidance.

definitely the balancing....get a long pole and run it through the front windows so a good few feet are sticking out either side....then simply hold it til you feel the balance is right and just floor it. Should see you right. And save you buckage on garage monkey costs.

Most likely one (or both) of the front wheels are out-of-balance.

Take the car to a tyre shop, and ask them to check - should cost less than £10 per wheel.
