It doesn't seem fair. I didn't ask to be born.

The "because it's my house" reason is given to children who don't seem to understand that they are CHILDREN and must obey their parents.

If your parents asks you to do something or will not allow you to do something you do not need to ask why.

I am sure your mom didn't say to you "Jimmy clean your room because it is my house!" She probably said, "Jimmy, you need to keep your room clean so go and get it done." And you replied, "but I am going to be late for soccer practice and I told Georgie I would meet him outside first, can't I clean it when I get home?" And mom said, "No Jimmy, I said now." And you still argue and she finally says, "You have to clean it now because it is MY HOUSE and you do what I SAY." :) :)

Stop arguing and obey your parents! SD

No, you probably didn't ask to be born, and if you had the answer most likely would have been NO! Your parents set rules because they love you and don't want to see you hurt. Some day, if you live long enough, you will understand. Merry Christmas.

Well, think about it from their point of view. It isn't fair, they didn't ask for an ungrateful kid. When I lived with my parents, I had enough respect for them to follow their rules. Now that I'm out on my own, about to start my own family, I can put myself in their shoes and since they're the ones who worked hard to provide us with a nice home, they should be allowed to make the rules about that home. Besides, they're the freaking parents! You think YOU should be allowed to make the rules?!?

DEAR DIDN'T ASK

They probably love you anyway...and yes, its a very good reason to enforce strict rules.

Absolutely yes, I am a dad of 2 boys, and my house is my house, and I make the rules, not them. When they have a place of their own, then they can make their own rules.

Unfortunately for our generation, kids do not get all their rights until they are no longer kids, until they are adults. Your parents have the right to do anything with you within your rights.

No one cna force you to do anything so do what you want.
Good luck!
