Moleskin is silky fur of a mole, is heavy cotton fabric. The word is also used for clothing made from this fabric.

It is also used in adhesive pads stuck to the feet to prevent blisters.

No, it's a tightly woven fabric, usually cotton, with a brushed finish (like flannel). It looks a little like suede and is used for trousers, skirts and jackets. It actually does feel like the fur of a mole. There was a time, hundreds of years ago when gloves were actually made of the real skins of moles but I doubt anyone does it anymore (it would take a heck of a lot of moles to make a pair of pants!.)

It's what a mole comes wrapped in ... keeps their guts on the inside! Really, Dr. Schools makes this adhesive backed felt like material that you cut to fit in areas, say on you heel, that get rubbed by your shoe. It's kinda like a little padding to protect your skin from the abrasion so blisters won't form.
