you cant light it until the end. beat all of the levels and then you should unlock a new place on your gummi ship.

To start the fire on the stove in deep jungle you'll need to gather all the recipe cards and have all the items nescarry. It's an optional quest, so you don't have to do it.
Theres a fireplace in the item shop in Tranverse Town. You can light the fire as soon as you have the ability to use fire.

If its the stove in the shop in Traverse town then u need to use fire magic on it.
