I was in an auto accident back in September that messed me up(nothing broken), we were hit from behind, I have gotten better since until recently I had a flare up in my traps, and romboids (sp?). My chiropractor insists it is because I refuse to get my neck cracked, what it the validity of this procedure? When I asked him he couln't explain.

There's no movement in your neck vertebrae. That's why your muscles are spasming up. Your traps and rhomboids are connected to your neck so it there is no movement in your neck what happenes the neck vertebrae may misalign and put pressure on your muscle tissue and nerves. Give it a try just once. If you don't like it. Ask him to use the activator method. It is an instrument used to adjust the vertebrae without twisting your neck. I work for one and believe it or not adjusting my neck is the best thing especially for tired aching muscles and headaches. Get well soon.

He couldn't explain or you didn't understand?

An experienced and good chiropractor will provide you with x-rays of your spine and discuss the details of any problems and discuss what's involved with aligning it properly. If this chiropractor failed to do any of this, find another chiropractor.

If he wants to do it so badly, he should be able to explain why it would be beneficial. "Because I said so.." doesn't go over very well as far as medical procedures are concerned. I would look into his license and be sure he actually went to school.
