Wal-Mart is fantastic. They use efficient logistics and good negotiating to bring people low prices. They don't take away other stores. It is the customers that stop shopping at the other stores. The power is held by the consumer, not any of the stores. The consumer chooses which stores stay and which must close.
You may be a higher-income consumer who can afford the higher prices of the smaller stores. You want to keep the smaller stores by shutting down Wal-mart. Even if this means people with less money have to pay the higher prices as well. It's not Wal-mart that is harming America, it is the snobby dictators.

We dont have Wal-mart here in the UK, but we do have Tesco which sounds pretty much like the same story. Tesco stores are everywhere now and all the small family run shops are either struggling to survive or closing down.

I hear you. Do we really need a Wal Mart that is so massive you could literally get lost in it? No. They totally suck.

No I love the prices, they cant be beat, but I do hate the lines & the cashiers that take there gay ol' time checking people out.
Then they have half the length of the store lined with registers, but only use 1/4 of them. Oh that annoys me!

YES ~ they're always busy, there's 50 checkout lanes and no cashiers, the managers just stand around....the only time I like going to Wal-Mart is at three in the morning. The people who work at mine in the middle of the night know my name, they're fabulous :)

It's the crowds at Walmart that get to me. I think I'm claustrophobic or whatever the phobic is about crowds of people.
I get panic attacks when I go there. But it's cheaper than other stores.

No, I'm not sick of Walmart. The only reason I answered this question is because you and I have the same avatar.
