Most likely, she only rides once a week or so and expects to be in top form. You need to ride a lot to build up the muscles needed.
If I take a week or two break from riding, I will get a little sore, but I ride 3-4 times a week usually and never get sore.
Tell her to stop being a baby and quit riding english if it is bugging her so much. Just because she is your friend, doesn't mean she gets to whine everytime. Sounds like she just wants attention to the fact she is riding english to me.

Not really, especially after you've been riding regularly for several years. However, yes, if you haven't ridden in a while or you're just learning to ride and you're just starting to use/re-use those leg muscles (and really, all of them in your body), yes you can be very sore. My reccomendation is to tell your friend to stretch before she rides (like you would before a track meet, etc) which should help.

Sounds like she needs to work on her strength, form, and technique. Offer her some lessons. Watch her ride and spot what she is doing to make her body sore (leaning forward, posting incorrectly, keeping a hollow back.) Give her some pointers, if she will accept them. Good luck : )

It depends on what is getting sore. When you first start, or if you don't ride often, regardless of the style of riding, you can be sore. If you're riding without the proper equipment, you can be sore regardless.

:) Only if you don't stick to riding every day. If she rides every day for a month, she'll probably start to lose the aches.
Otherwise, you've got to put up with it.

not if you ride everyday. but if you are not strong or have worked on something to strengthen yourself then yes. also if she is just learning then yes. it would make sense for her to complain if she is just learning but not if has been riding for years. just tell her to take a hot shower or bath and if its so bad take a light pain killer.

If they are not strong yes, or if they fall off a lot. You should start asking about funny fall off stories. They are great!
