Since "Mission Accomplished!" Bush has methodically followed a formula for disaster in Iraq. Bush is far from stupid. One must conclude he purposefully intended to topple Saddam and leave Iraq in chaos.
This leads one to wonder why. What would be the possible motivation for such a stratergy?

I don't know if it is this simple really. I think Bush has a fair amount of arrogance and I do believe that the administration failed to properly address the recommendations of the Generals who from the start stated that we needed more troops. In the interest of fair interpretation I would say that if anything Bush is guilty of listening to his advisers rather than any systemic attempt to keep Iraq unstable. The war was a success without doubt, but I think at this point it is obvious that they weren't ready for the peace and had a hard time admitting that things were not going well.

Bush spoke too soon. Mission accomplished is the first strategy. He had not anticipated that there are many warring faction. Remember that Bush is not a military man, His father is. With no background experience in war strategy to boast of, it is hardly possible for him to command an army. Unfortunately as President , he is also the Commander-in-chief.

For Iraq to settle down, he will need military strategist like his father, Collin Powells, and Ronald Reagan star wars, and Political Figures of the world who understand Moslem Culture that means EDUCATED IRAQUI and MOSLEM educated in the Western World and Moslem Culture to help him plan the next step. Otherwise the war is going to escalate further with more lives lost . I believe this would give America a way to bow out gracefully.

I think Bush is like many people who think (THINK) they know better then those who have spent an entire life-time perfecting their job .
Almost the entire staff of generals warned Bush that the number of troops needed to do the job responsibly was much larger then the available troops on hand at the time .
Bush the all knowing, a man who had bankrupted businesses in the past due to poor decision making , was at the helm of our military and proceeded ahead despite the warnings from dozens of military professionals .
I am shocked that he was permitted to do this by those who knew better .
When you see a child playing with matches you take them away from him before he does serious harm to himself or those around him .
I can not stress the need to remove and charge him with crimes against the nation .
With that said and the over 3000 lives lost and the 20,000 men and women injured due to his lies and ignorance I feel we need to jail Mr. Bush .
Then we must remind the world what America is and what we stand for .
We can bring back the draft ,complete the mission to secure Iraq and install a democratic government and help them begin the re-building that must be done in the aftermath of George Bush's actions .
That he will be Sitting in jail and that this will be the last time U.S. troops are sent to do a job without the ability to wage war and force the complete surrender of all the people might sit well enough with most Americans that we can raise such a level of support for our troops that this war is finished and over for real in a year .
If we pull out now it will send the wrong message and like it or not I have to accept that the wrong message now will only cost the lives of many more innocent people in the long run .
We can console our selfs with the fact that we are jailing the people responsible for this fiasco and the additional lives that will be lost to maintain our standing and security in the long run and those already sacrificed will mean something ..
We can not have another losing battle as we have in the past .
A clear victory is needed and a stern warning for those who threaten the security of the people in America is needed now more then ever .
Swift public executions of those who are captured is needed and a Serial killer from our prison should be handed a large sword and allowed to cut of the heads of those who openly attack and oppose our mission . This will keep some poor soldier from having Nightmares the rest of his life for beheading 5000 people . It may take more then that but these people will surrender or die .War sucks and people die and I hate war but I think we all stand the real possibility of a nuclear attack on American soil that will kill millions if we do not get a handle on this situation and take our role as leader of the world .
Bush has said a few things that ring true ,you are with us or against us and we have to make others decide who they are with us or them and then deal with it in a rational manner .
Had Bush just told the truth from the beginning I would not feel the need to in prison him for his actions .

The answer is the mission is still left unfinished and until several months go by without the death of anyone due to terrorism or violent protest to the occupation of Iraq it will not be over .

We shall never really know the real reason that prompted the war in Iraq. As for "Mission Impossible" I think that Bush referred to the movie. Chaos in the region was not caused by the war, remember Khomeini, he brought chaos to Iran without a war by the Americans? The establishment of Islamic laws forced upon the people, is the cause of the present and all future chaos.

The "Mission Accomplished" banner went up 2 months before the capture of Saddam. For those above who cite the banner was after, you are either spreading misinformation or you are believing it. Either way it confirms what we suspect about the 30%s.
Also, the White House admits THEY produced the banner and asked that it be hung. Research it folks, don't just accept the hypocrit Rush's word for it. You are either deliberately spreading lies or you are believing them.

Bush does not make his own decisions. People make them for him and he just says OK. He obviously goes along with everything he is told "needs to be done". He couldn't find Bin Laden so he probably thought taking down Hussein would get him points with Americans. He's created a huge mess.

Contrary to the belief of the far left, Bush didn't say mission accomplished. That banner was hoisted by the aircraft carrier he visited. That carrier did in fact accomplish its mission.

He wanted to leave it in total chaos so the world would not call upon the US EVER again to police the world. Very intriguing strategy indeed

My theory is that he knew that Iraq would turn chaotic, and that it would prompt terroroists from around the world to come there to fight us. It makes sense if you think about it. It's better to draw them out in the open in one country so that we don't have to go hunting for them all over the world. Bush could never say this was our strategy as the terrorists would know not to go there.

Just a theory.
