what do you look for? missing tread, or all the way to the point that you cant ware them anymore because you foot goes all the way through the shoe. or somewhere in between.

my way of thinking is that you can always buy new laces and new insoles. and an electric sander will cleen a shoe better than anything i have ever seen before.

Place your shoes outside the door and close it. If you can now smell the shoes it is time for a change.

I have had the same pair of adidas stan smith velcro's for around 6 years (before you say they stink I do change the insouls every 5 months or so!).

I think the reason people hold on to them for so long is as I find it hard to find a comfortable pair, so I don't bother shopping for them that often.

my man doesnt throw away his shoes, i do, when his toes start to stick out, or the tread flops when he walks. He says the same thing, he could have glued that back together. but after a week of listening to it. i had to do something.
