Musicians Friend as stated above, or American Musical Supply at americanmusical.com or 800-458-4076.
Their prices on most equipment is comparable almost to the penny, but at different times these suppliers are offering specials of one kind or another, often including sale prices or free shipping or other promo type things.
It pays to check both.

Use Duck Tape and tape Hot Dogs around your tummy. Then attach a few wires going to a Watch Taped to the Hot Dogs. Run one wire up and out your shirt sleeve to a Button in your hand. Go to the store and ask to speak with the Manager. When he comes, pull your shirt up so he see the Hot Dogs and say; "Sell me this Bass Guitar for a good price or I release this button and we all die"!! You Will actually get a good deal and a good laugh. It a Secret many have used to get their first good guitar. Well, that was how I heard it.
There many good and trustworthy Stores on-line that offer good deals without the Haggle. Below is one link I have used. I have used others also, never a problem. Just know what you want, so, you not get something and change your mind and have to o through the Hassle to return.

I think the best way to haggle is to arm yourself with knowing the cheapest price you can buy the bass someplace else especially on the web. Be aware of shipping costs and tax.
Go to the store you hope to buy it from and offer to buy it for that cheapest price. If you don't like their counter-offer, even if they offer to throw in a fairly good case and/or strings and/or a strap, get the salesperson's card, name, and quote, and then tell them you have to check another place. Haggle at the other store the same way. Take the best store offer and buy the bass.

Suggest the price isn't quite worth it, or mention how its priced slightly lower at a competators store...
If that fails,.. negotiations at gun or knife point can be adventagious but risky :)
