It's a very difficult question, but i believe his best performance has been playing Ichabod Crane in Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" (1999). However I wouldn't be just if I don't mention his great performances in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", "Finding Neverland", "The Libertine", " Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Ed Wood", "Benny & Joon", "Edward Scissorhands" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

There is NO bad Depp movie. He's such a versatile actor that he's been amazing in every role he's ever played. I have to admit that my favorite movie he was in was From Hell, not because of Johnny's performance but because he had an amazing list of supporting actors and actresses.

I would have to say Benny & Joon...he was remarkable in it!! But I do have to agree with the one who said that all of Johnny Depp's movies are good!!! A very versatile actor....and sooo sexy dressed as a pirate! *S* But I did love his whole Buster Keaton routine in Benny & Joon.

There are so many wonderful performances to choose from, because he does such a great job of immersing himself completely in the character. Since comparing his performances is like comparing apples to oranges, I just decided to go with the movie I like best, which is "Finding Neverland."

Pirates of the Carribean. I have heard that he styled Jack Sparrow after Keith Richards from the rolling stones. I have also heard that Keith Richards plays his dad in part 3. I dont know if these rumors are true though, its just what I have heard.
