I suspect the impact would be limited. People who are true psychopaths would likely pass an evaluation with little trouble. That's part of why psychopathy and sociopathy are so difficult to diagnose. Plus, many of these people are perfectly healthy individuals who suffer a sudden psychotic break due to sustained stress or a traumatic event. Of course, there are always exceptions. Some people will fail the screenings... but it's not all that difficult to obtain a gun illegally.

What a sad way for these kids to grow up, my heart breaks for them. They really need to get divorced and keep their distance from one another. But to the question at point, yes, she can order a psych evaluation on him, but he can also admit her's into court also. This really does look like a lose, lose, situation. There is even the possibility the courts could see both parents as unfit and place them in foster care. Is anyone concerned for the sanity of the children? Take a hard look at that one too. Good Luck!

Mark. This woman has been disabled and lost her life to this freak of a man. Stand by for her. She did suffer in silence. Now more than ever she needs protection. Sad to say he is not through with her yet. Do what you can to help her and her children. If that means involving law enforcement. And No. Absolutely not to the psych eval. If he wants that then he should be ordered by the courts to submit one himself. An extensive eval given not once but in succession over a period of time. Good luck to you and hers. I honor her for what she did for her kids. But am sorry for her that she allowed it to go this far. And for the children I am sorry for them.

No she doesn't. Her medical history is solely for her and her Drs. No one else. The only way her spouse would or should know is if she did anything to hurt the children. I think someone should turn him in for sure. Most of her problems are probably because of him to begin with. It is a known fact that people can have mental problems from being in an abusive relationship.

hmmm....she needs a good attorney....I don't know the laws that well, but if he's using her psych evaluation against her it seems that some of the abuse she endured, should be used against him and an attorney should be able to order a psych evaluation on him as well, especially in custody concerns. Good Luck....she might also look into a protective order against this guy...and superivised visitations with the children...just a thought.

If i was her I would talk to someone like child abuse, to get those poor children out of there. get records from the school to see how many times those children didn't go. get as much proof as she can. then i would file a law suit agains't him for doing that. those children need to be safe from their father, Tell your friend to fight for what she wants and trying to commit suicide is not helping her children, shes doing more harm to them. even if she lost her vision she can still be strong and fight. let her know that you are behind her a 100%. good luck.
