Most summer schools to learn English only seem to take from 12 - 18. Nottingham Trent university runs one in the summer but this is only from 12.
Maybe if you gave them a ring, they may be able to suggest somewhere for a ten year old.

A few summers ago I worked as a Social host for Discovery Summer who run a residential summer school for 10-15 year olds in Uppingham which is in Rutland approx. 1 to 1.5 hours away from Nottingham city. There is a mix of students from all around the world and there are also english student hosts who stay and do all the activities with the foreign students so english is spoken most of the time. The students do english classes in the morning and games and activities in the afternoon and evenings. They also go on daytrips including possibly a trip to Nottingham.

which country is your cousin coming from? I have been an English Language host for 6 years, have had over 50 students in my home and speak french as a second language, I also have children of my of this age, people learn better from being in a family setting because we speak real everyday English and the Schools can only teach class room English. I live in Dorset by the sea, if this is any use to you then contact me and we can discuss this. I am Police checked and have references.

I do not know. But he can learn english from home itself....! A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

The best way to learn a language is to involve yourself in the community of the country you are seeking to learn its language in. Children have an enviable knack of making friends and picking up languages fairly quickly so that may be one route. As to formal training I am not sure
